Glasgow Dog Walking - Client Feedback
Thursday, 3 August 2017
Feeling guilty? Let us help you with guilt free dog walking
At Stardust Doggy Care, we are fully aware of the responsibility that comes with owning a dog, as we all have them too.
We totally get it, there are just not enough hours in the day.
You leave early for work and the most you can offer your furry friend is a quick 10 minutes round the block because any more than that and there would be no point in you going to bed!
As you leave the house, with the big sad eyes upon you, you promise him that you'll go to the park after work and have some fun quality time together.
You then get to work, the day is manic and oh bugger you forgot about that presentation deadline, so you'll have to stay a bit later.
Of course you've thought about your dog and you've missed him. Lots of hugs when you get home to cheer you both up, you promise.
You get home much later than planned, you are hank marvin and in need of some food and a good rest.
Your dog is super excited to see you, as you are him but he remembers that promise of the park and it's really the last thing you want to do, especially as it's now raining outside!
The feeling of guilt is overwhelming!
Stop!!!! That's where we come in, whilst you are at work, the Stardust Aunties will come and take your dog out whether it's for a full day of doggy day care fun or an hour of freedom with his friends, you can rest assured that your dog will be having the best time.
When you come home, you can eat dinner together and he will tell you all about his fun adventures, then you can both snuggle and relax before it's time for bed.
We aim to make your life as guilt and stress free as possible as we know you work long hours, whilst making your dog's life full of fun and happiness.
Your dog parent street cred will go through the roof, once your dog starts telling everyone how awesome you are as you employ the Stardust team to keep him company whilst you're off earning pennies for his dog treats.
Sound good? What are you waiting for, contact us and arrange a free consultation and trial walk now! Oh and we also bring some free yummy treats for your dog, to make you even more awesome!

Glasgow Dog Walking Your Questions Answered
As a Glasgow Dog Walking and doggy day care business, we get asked questions all day every day. Here are some of the most frequent ones, and our best advice:
1. I can get someone to walk my dog for £6 per hour, why can't you match that?
At Stardust, we firmly believe in offering our customers value for money as well as an excellent service. All of our team are fully trained, experienced and Police checked. We also operate as a professional business and provide other services, which our competitors may not. These include a dedicated account on our software, where you can manage your own bookings/ invoices/ information. Emergency support and guidance outwith office hours. All of our gang travel in customised air conditioned Stardust doggy vans to ensure safe transit. We therefore feel £10 for a 1 hour walk and £15 for doggy day care (5 hours) is excellent value for money.
On the back of this question we also get if I use you Mon - Fri will I get a discount?
No, we have a set number of spaces each day, so are unable to offer discounts. Many of our dogs walk with us Monday to Friday.
2. How do I know my dog won't just be travelling in a van all day?
Stardust was founded back in 2009 and our principles have always been the same. The first rule is that health and safety of the dogs is paramount and secondly all dogs are equal. All of our team have dogs too, so each of the gang is treated exactly like our own. Through our software, we send you a notification when your dog is picked up and again when it is dropped home, along with an accompanying photograph. The team are all tracked via GPS, which is available to view. We also post regular photographs and live feeds on our social media accounts. If all this fails; just check your dog's energy levels, they will be suitably shattered when the come home from a day out with us!
3. How many dogs are walked at a time?
We only offer group walks at Stardust as we do not have the capacity to provide solo walks. Each walk is usually between 6-8 dogs.
4. How do you ensure they won't fight?
Every dog is subject to an assessment during our initial free consultation. During which we observe the dogs behaviour, body language, social interaction and attitude. Usually during this we can advise whether our service will be suited to the dog or not. Only if the service will benefit the dog and our existing gang will we proceed with a trial walk.
5. Does my dog need to be neutered?
Not necessarily, although we do prefer it. Sometimes entire males can become aggressive with other males. If we do observe this or change in a male dog as it gets older then we would advise accordingly. As soon as you are aware that your female may be coming into season, she must stay off until it has passed, this can be between 2-4 weeks.
6. I might only need you every now and again would this be ok?
To be honest dogs are creatures of habit and like routine. If this is continually disrupted, your dog could become distressed and possibly even develop behavioural issues. We prefer to see dogs at least a couple of times a month, this therefore keeps them used to the routine and avoids any problems.
7. There are loads of Dog Walkers in Glasgow, why should I go with you?
At Stardust we are fully transparent and offer our customers an excellent level of service, for which our rates are very competitive. We now have almost 50 dogs on our books, a team of 3 crazy dog ladies who are bonkers about dogs. We are all fully trained, experienced and Policed checked. We have 3 customised doggy vans to ensure safe transit for all our gang. Our team also wear a uniform, which makes us easily identifiable. Holiday cover is always provided, therefore we won't leave you in the lurch or pass your dog to someone it's unfamiliar with whilst we are on holiday. We do however close down on Bank Holidays and over Christmas and New Year as we find most owners are home at these times. We can offer a limited service, if required.
8. Where do you walk?
All the gang are grouped in terms of their location to ensure that they are not spending any longer than they need to in our doggy vans. We therefore have various woodland walks that we use. We prefer to walk in areas which are not commonly used by the public, so we try to find off the beaten track areas, where the gang can have as much fun as possible and not be disrupted by anyone else.
9. How does home boarding work?
We offer home boarding only to the dogs we walk. The reason for this is that the dogs stay in our homes as part of the family. We therefore have to ensure that we know the dogs really well. All of the Stardust team have dogs of our own and some with young children, so we need to ensure everyone will be safe. We want your dog to have a stress free happy holiday with us, so you come back to a relaxed pup!
10. Why do I have to pay a retainer fee when my dog is off?
At Stardust we operate on the same principles as a nursery, we like to think of ourselves as the canine version. The retainer fee ensures your dog's space is reserved when it is off as there would be nothing worse than a disappointed mutley if all our spaces were full.

Glasgow Dog Walking Business If You Don't Have Time...
I'm Lisa, Canine Experience Officer at Stardust Doggy Care
We are a team of 4 crazy dog people providing dog care within Glasgow and the surrounding areas.
I want to tell you a wee story about this gorgeous lad.
Marley joined the Stardust gang, almost 4 years ago.
Before we came along, his Mum and Dad were really worried that they were not giving Marley the attention he deserves as his Mum works long hours and his Dad works away from home.
Marley is his Mum's baby and they spend many an evening snuggled up together and he's his Dad's boy. Weekends are all about days with the boy!
Marley goes out on walks with Stardust Mon - Fri and he spends his holidays living at my home with me and my family (both human and furry!)
This means he has the best of both worlds, fun times out with his friends and fun and love with his Mum and Dad. He has a safe and stress free place to come on his holidays too.
So, Marley is one very happy and content furbaby!
If you are worrying that you can't give your dog the attention it deserves, let us sprinkle our Stardust magic and see how happy you can all be.
Don't just take my word for it, ask Marley!
Glasgow Dog Walking Another Nervous Doggy Success Story
This is Riley, he joined the Stardust gang 4 years ago.
When we first met; Riley's family were very nervous as they had had a bad experience with a dog walker in the past. Naturally they were worried about trusting someone with Riley again but knew that it was essential if they were to regain normal life and so Riley would not be left home alone.
Riley's family, rightly so asked me lots of questions and found out everything they needed to know before they agreed to let me trial walk the big guy.
Thankfully Riley and I got on great so this managed to reassure his family. Riley and Stardust have enjoyed a great relationship over the last 4 years.
Riley is off lead on all walks (previously unheard of) he's no longer scared of other dogs and his recall is spot on. He goes crazy when the doggy van comes to pick him up and he just loves cuddles and kisses! His family can't believe the change in him and they can also go on holidays and know he's having the time of his life at my house.
Riley is super handsome and he knows it! For this reason he wraps me round his little paw, I absolutely love this guy.
If you know someone who's had a bad experience but needs a dog walker, send them to Stardust, we don't all wag our tails in the same direction.

Glasgow dog sitting for Tamu
I'm Lisa Canine Experience Officer at Stardust Doggy Care. We are a team of 4 crazy dog people
providing dog walking and all other aspects of dog care within Glasgow and the surrounding areas .
Today I'm going to talk to you about Tamu, a Tanzanian word meaning “sweet” in Swahili
At 4 months our Tamu was anything but! When he joined Stardust he was all legs, bad manners and as stubborn as a mule. We did not see eye to eye. However, take a look at these photos!
This was Tamu on a mini break at Hotel Stardust just recently. Fast forward 3 years and a lot of hard work and we now have a very handsome adolescent boy, who is more than sweet! He's loving, obedient, good natured, playful and well I'm sure you get the idea.
I'm also glad to report that Tamu and I are the best of friends, he really does give the best hugs! Tamu's Mum and Dad had never left him before but after seeing how he is with me and all the hard work my team and I have put in, they knew he would be in good hands, whilst they took a much needed break.
We sprinkle our Stardust magic over whole families from dogs who are babies right through to old codgers. So, if you are needing help with a young pup or handsome senior, please woof over and see us

Glasgow Doggy Day Care Guest Sir Doods
This is Doodle, affectionately know as Sir Doods as with his longer hair, he bears a passing resemblance to Sir Rod Stewart.
Doodle has a competition every day to see how muddy he can get and which of the team he will give heart failure first. He's the inventor of the Doodle bounce, if you want to know what that's all about, come join us and the gang on a doggy walk.
Doodle has been with Stardust for almost 4 years, so he's pretty much in with the furniture. He's survived the birth of his first human sibling and he's just preparing for the second one to arrive, with small humans around, Doodle loves to escape for some fun with his friends.
He stays over at hotel Stardust quite often and we love having him, he's an excellent house guest and can often be found in my daughter's bedroom with her. Although she's still not quite forgiven him for bursting a beach ball when she was two! Sorry Doods
The gang become part of our family, so that when their owners are on holiday etc, they don't need to worry and we also provide them with full updates, complete with photos and videos, if the dogs sit still long enough.
Do you need a surrogate family for your pooch when you can't be there? Give us a call and we'll arrange to sprinkle the Stardust magic your way
